Spring is my absolute favorite season in Utah! You know winter has come to an end and turned to spring when the cherry trees in Utah begin to bloom. Each year I look forward to getting a few family sessions in at the Utah State Capitol building! The main walkway is lined with beautiful cherry trees that bloom the first week of April. Each year the Capitol’s instagram page updates when the blossoms start to bloom so you know when to shoot there!
I love that this location screams spring! The pink blossoms against the blue sky are extra dreamy when paired with a spring wardrobe! Pastels and flowy dresses are great options, although it can get a little bit chilly, so I love when my clients bring some layering options as the session goes on!
Over the years, the capitol has gotten increasingly busy with people who want to see the beautiful blossoms. To avoid crowds, it’s best to schedule your session in the morning or on a weeknight. You also want to plan extra time to find parking as it can be really difficult!
