The Salt Flats are an amazing place to take family photos! People come from all over the country to get their photos done at the Utah Salt Flats because it is such a dreamy and unique location. I love being able to make my way over there for a handful of family sessions every year.  

Season and Light

Anytime between late spring and early fall is the best time to shoot at the Salt Flats. Going during this time of year provides gorgeous weather and beautiful late night light. With the dynamic light there is a fun opportunity to capture many different looking images to add to your family gallery. Plus, the sunsets are unbeatable! The light changes drastically throughout the time we shoot, so you will get a beautiful and dynamic gallery with several different looks! Nothing can beat it!

Wardrobe

At the Utah Salt Flats, the white textured ground, distant mountain range and blue sky makes it perfect to have fun with your family’s wardrobe. Dreamy pastels and neutral colors compliment the surroundings so well. I love it when families incorporate texture in their wardrobe like the Corbo Family did in this session! While keeping this in mind, dress in what feels best for your family! My favorite outfits are ones that combine color, movement, and texture while also reflecting the family’s personality, especially with the nature of the Salt Flats.
