Oh boy I cannot wait to share this beautiful lifestyle family session with you! The Simkins Family looks like they walked right out of a magazine, and they are not only stunning, but the kindest people who are so easy going. This family shoot was a bit chaotic, with multiple reschedules and some unhappy weather (would you believe me if I told you it was raining and super dark?), it should have been a stressful shoot! But, we were able to create so much magic and document the beautiful chaos.
This is why I love family sessions. The unexpected hiccups make so much beauty and allows me to document so much genuine connection within the family.
Little Cottonwood Canyon was the perfect backdrop for this session. I drove up and down the canyon looking for the perfect location to shoot in a rainstorm (like I said there was such little light). The tall aspens and the crisp summer-storm air gave these photos so much life, and I loved every second of documenting it.
