The Nance Family has always been one of my favorite families to photograph. Every time I have an idea I know that they will always be up for it. Our shoots just get better and better, and this shoot was one of my all time favorites with them. I met Katie and Eric when I was a teenager, they has just barely gotten married and lived in my ward! A few years after they moved out, we reconnected through Instagram and started meeting up regularly to take photos and hang out. Eric is also a photographer so it’s always fun to bounce ideas off of each other and collaborate to make beautiful images. Being a lifestyle family photographer, one of the things that lights me up the most is play and connection. Following their family around the frozen lake and documenting those tiny magical moments made me so happy!
I love their outfits for this location, neutrals with a bit of pop. Their family photo outfit game is always on point.
The Utah winters can be so dreary but it brings me so much joy to find beautiful places like this to photograph! Utah family photos are always so fun because of the variety of locations available in every season.
The clean colors and warm light make these images feel cozy and authentic, which is always my goal with family photo sessions.
